Location: Ashland WI | Another option is a Nils auger that you can use with a cordless electric drill.
I really like my set up. And it comes with a hand attachment that I use when the ice is thinner. |

Location: US | I use an 8" eskimo pistol bit on an 18V Milwaukee drill. I love it. If you go this route make sure you get the newer version of the pistol bit with the center point. |

| I bought an 8” Ion last year. So far it’s great. I lasted a full day drilling on Lake Winnipeg late ice last year before the border was shut down. It would last several days locally in northern MN without charging if the battery is kept warm. I wasn’t drilling 50 holes a day through 3 feet, but was very impressed with the auger and can’t see going back to a gas auger... |

| I used a K drill auger and Milwaukee drill last year. If you have to reopen holes the K drill is great. If i was hole hopping the strike master would be a good bet as its maybe a touch quicker than a K drill.
Also know of a few people using the Milwaukee mud mixer rather that drill and have not tried myself but it looks like a nice setup. |

| I went with the Strikemaster Lite Flite 8" on a Milwaukee 18v last year. I was very happy with it, 5aH battery was around 30-40 holes through 3+ feet of ice, per battery. Have a solid drill to use around the house when not fishing. |

Location: Walker, MN | I have two hard seasons on my Strikemaster 40V with no complaints. I drill a lot of holes, I use all three of my batteries and three chargers, and can't seem to harm the drill. |

| 40v Strikemaster is the way to go in my opinion. After using a buddies and my uncles all of last season, I had to get my own for this one. Early ice last year we cut well over 150 holes without it even slowing down. |
