Posts: 189 Location: Hoboken, NJ / North Webster, IN | Have gone up around Red Lake in Ontario for years, and love it, but no muskies, and the Pike in recent years haven't been so large either. So.... My question for all of you is what is your favortie lodge/resort for big muskies? Ideally looking for something with a lodge for breakfast and dinner, fairly nice cabins, enough walleye for shore lunch and a good shot and some big 'skis. Any help would be great....thanks. Longing for liquid water... Josh

There is also a smaller lake (Cedar) in the area (15 min from the N. end) that puts out a good # of skies and some big one as well. Happy Hunting Duck

Posts: 366 | Walsh's Bay Store Resort on the Northwest Angle of LOTW. Owners Frank and Laura Walsh are some of the nicest people around and they run a first-rate fishing resort that is focused on Big muskies throughout the season. The cabins are very nice and their rates are highly agreeable. Although I'm pretty sure they are housekeeping plan only and don't serve meals, except possibly for shore lunch with guiding packages. Numerous +50" muskies are caught out of the camp every year with countless other four foot class fish, depending on your version of big muskies. Very rarely do first-time customers not become regulars. If you don't know the area, then Frank's guiding abilites are second to no one. Check out their website and give them a call, you won't be disappointed. Walsh's Bay Store Resort P.O. Posts: 140 | I would suggest ANDY MEYERS LODGE! www.andymeyerslodge.com I spent a week up there last July. In a week my partner and I caught 6 muskies(33, 33.5, 37, 38, 44 & 50). We moved 20 to 25 fish per day. HUGE muskies all day long. The walleye fishing was unreal. We spent about 3 hours on the last day fishing for walleye. We got tired of catching them. The cabins & service are top notch at Herbie's place. Thad Hinshaw Edited by Thad 12/29/2003 7:47 AM

Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Walsh's Bay Store gets another nod of approval from me. Mentally picture a fishing camp devoted to catching muskies and that's what Walsh's is. As an added bonus there are many slimers (Pike) caught everyday, and with the new slot sizes on LOTW, many of them are very nice sized. We caught pike up to 40 inches there last year. Frank and Laura have very nice cabins, but you will be on your own as far as the food goes.

Posts: 80 Location: IL | The is no question that Wlashes Bay Store is the place to be. Check out the website www.baystorecamp.com If you have never been there make sure you hire Frank for a day. He knows LOTW as good as anyone. I would get reservations now. I hear he is almost booked already. After the Chicago show next week I doubt there will be anything available..

Posts: 376 Location: Lake Vermilion Tower, MN | If your looking at Minnesota I can recommend Vermilion Dam Lodge here on the Big V. World class walleye and smallmouth bass, to go along with our great muskie fishery. More 50" class fish than you will ever see in anywhere this easy to get to. Average size 46.5 females and 44" males. (MNDNR statistics) Ed Tausk and his family run the best resort on Vermilion bar none. He has American plan and has some packages that include free guide trips with the best local guides. Vermilion Dam Lodge 218-666-5418 www.vdl.com

I'm a huge fan of Walsh's, but they don't really have the Amercan Plan as far as I know, and it is basicallly a fish camp, not a "lodge". Try Bill Sandy's: http://www.blackhawkislandcamp.com I know they have am american plan with breakfast and dinner, and Bill puts a lot of BIG fish in the boat. (Frank does too, and his gas is cheaper...). Hard to beat LOTW for fishing, it's like as sportsman's Mecca. For High-buck stuff, the Wollaston (sp?) and Totem lodges are supposed to be really nice, but I've never been there. I think that one of their lodges are on LOTW. Good luck.
