Ice fishing today was slow for Sue and I. We are learning a new lake, and need to figure out where the fish are. Where they are NOT is in 12' over the marl, or 10' over the sand. We did catch enopugh for a meal, and had a great time. A beautiful day, that is for sure.

My weekend results are as follows...

1 canceled family Christmas due to step mom's flu

1 family Christmas relocated due to hosting cousin's flu

an afternoon with the son tearing apart his first 2 cycle engine (burnt piston)

began the fishing reel overhaul process

a wonderful children's Christmas program at church today ( yes, I'm a proud father!)

entirely too much food consumed and too many sweets.

All in all, a great weekend and a great start to 16 days off from work!

Not ice fishing here yet. Only got to fish for a couple hours with nothing to show for it.

Hit LOTW Saturday and pulled about 50 'eyes and sauger. Lots of 11-14"ers plus a couple of 21"ers. Fresh walleye for dinner tonight :o. Yummmm!

Does pulling a 12 lb. Rainbow Trout out of the freezer count as an ice fishing excursion?

We passed on our last trip of the season thinking it was a big change in the wind pattern we did not believe would happen. It did and I am sorry we did not go.

Saturday we shopped and spent more time parking and leaving the parking lot than we did shopping. Sunday I wrapped 30 presents(that takes time for a guy) and have three more to do.

Went to shelbyville today and caught one. My cousin got his first muskie ever a 39 1/2 about 5 feet from the boat. I thought my cousin was going out the other side of the boat when it hit. It was a great day.
