Location: Chicago, Beverly | So does the penn 965, the corsair 400, the okuma and maybe a couple others. They all got different features for the most part and I was wondering how the D-garcia might compare even to a 6500c3 better yet the rest. |

| Actually the calcuta's and the others look like Garcia's but that is symantics. I am a Garcia guy for always but get leary of their new products. I prefer time tested and proven equipment. The more gadgets you put on the more that can go wrong. I do like the idea of lowering the reel. |

From what I can tell it should be as smooth as the C5's since it has 5 bearings. Hard to tell if the magnetic casting brake will be effective on heavier baits...Will have to wait until a few people give them a try. I can tell you that the magnetic adjust on the C5's is fine for light bucktails like Mepps or smaller Boo Tails but on heavier baits it really doesn't do anything.
I have a bunch of C4's, C5's and use them hard. I usually install Smoothie Ultra drag washers in my Garcia's and tear them down and clean them once per season. I have had excellent service from them for many years.
I'm not sure what the price of the new D series will be but if it is in the $120 range that the C5's were in it should be worth giving a try.
Hope this helps a little |

Location: oswego, il | Sounds like it has a similar braking feature as the quantum acs. I have the quantum and I really like it, the mechanism works well on that reel. |
