Hi everyone. Well after having a great season boating 23 fish in as many days, I was humbold last week. Not only did I not get a muskie in 6 days, I did not even get a pike! The back bays had frozen and the main lake temp was at 35. We did losts of trolling and some casting with no results. We fished the first break and the second. We fished current areas and mid lake reefs. I did mark some fish on the graph but no takers. Fishing was horrible. The Lake iced up on the 6 day on Saturday. We broke hafe inch ice all the way back to the boat launch. The funny thing is on November the 2nd which was Sunday, the fishing was amazing with water temps at 44. Then one week of very cold weather dropped the water down to 35 and that was it. The bite went dead.

What if anything, could we have done diffrently?

Thanks
Cory

I have been amazed at the depth ( or lack of) fish this fall. Between fishing with Steve Heiting, John Stellflue and yestereday with Cady, the fish have been extremely shallow. So shallow that if I was by myself I wouldnt even attempt it.

Were talking 3-6 feet in water temps from 34-39.

I would think the cisco's are done by now, not sure why they are there but we hammered the breaks and didn't see a fish.

Cory... it's funny you posted this because I too had a horrible time getting fish to snap this past weekend in northwest Wisconsin.

Water temp was 32.6...very slight wind...overcast the entire weekend. I worked the 10 to 15 foot....the 15 to 20 foot and the 20 to 30+ foot depth, with nothing to show for it. I crawled 4 suckers around while my bud and me casted Bull Dawgs and DDD. Not a rip for three days.

I think the water cooled too damn fast this last time. Cold ...warm...cold...warm. Crazy ass fall for sure.

You could write a book. You could call it: "Time Off The Water."
