at what point on the fish's body do you measure to get an accurate girth measurement?

Use a soft tape that you can wrap nice and tight around the fish and slide it up and down till you find the fatest part and thats where you should take the girth from. Thats what I do anyways

ok so theres no standard spot where you would always measure? just the fattest. so say if it has a walleye in its belly you would get a false reading?
