| Looking at a Helix 10 with DI and SI and marina told me I need 2 transducers because with one it will only shoot out one way. the other way is blocked by the motor, sounds good but do I really need 2 transducers. If I did why doesn't Hummionbird give you 2 transducers to start with???

| I just installed a Helix 10 G2N this summer and used the transducer that it came with. Seems to work just fine for me. As a matter of fact the first week I found some old foundations in the lake on side imaging that were undoubtedly old homes or fishing camps before the lake was flooded. The technology is game changing. Bought the Zero lines card and the Lakemaster Plus cards for WI and MN. The ability to safely navigate back to the lodge after dark on Lake Vermillion being the first time on the lake was worth the price of the card. |

| For what it's worth, I have the 10" G2N Mega SI. One transducer does both SI and DI.
Trim the motor if you have any issues but I have yet to experience any to view both sides. Your results may vary. Im not a fan of false information for monetary gain.
What is the actual model number? assumption is G3N 410890-1 which is linked here.

Zion, IL | are you sure the dealer didn't mean that one transducer is for regular sonar on plane and the other is for si/di so that it can be mounted higher and out of the way so it is less likely to impact the trailer, stumps, rocks, etc.? That is common no matter the brand it seems. |

| It is my understanding that bass boats with a stepped transom utilize a second thruhull transducer so they can get a reading while on plane as the transom transducer is either out of the water or in the slipstream.
......
I run the stock Helix 10 transducer on the transom of my Alumacraft and it works great. I had to readjust the transducer to find the sweet spot but I get good readings at all speeds.

| This. I also run the high speed transducer otherwise the stock transducer stops reading at >15/20mph. This is on an aluminum boat not glass. If you go this route make sure the SI transducer is slightly lower than the high speed transducer so it doesn't block that side of the SI |

Location: SW Ohio | I’m running dual SI mega transducers. Not because I have to but because I have them. One came with my Helix 10 that I transferred from my Lowe to my Skeeter. The other came on the Skeeter with a Helix 9. Required a splitter but I have a backup already mounted if needed. With a single transducer mounted I did need to trim up a bit to see the left side clearly on both boats.
Since the boat has a stepped transom, there is a separate 2D shoot thru mounted in the bolts area somewhere for high speed readings. |
