My trim motor is acting up. Checked all relays and solenoid and switches = all good.
Tapped the casing on tilt motor and it magically started working so...
I have a friend that works at an electric motor manufacturing company who said he would take it apart and clean it and check brushes...
Has anyone here ever had success doing this and them reinstalling or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new one (which is 950 Cdn). Also has anyone ever gambled on an aftermarket motor and did it work out ok?
Thanks
Landry

Might be just fine with the clean up and brushes.

I bought an aftermarket trim motor off eBay 5-6 years ago for a fraction of the cost of OEM and I haven't had any problems with it. Knock on wood.
