Posts: 612 | Just got my new Terrova with both remote and foot-pedal. Can't wait to try the spot-lock, cruise control and autopilot features. Took months to get it in due to Covid-19 delays. No more 26# navy anchor for this old guy.

High winds and my Ultrex are not an issue either. It's in almost dead calm conditions it occasionally drops off spot lock.

I've never had an issue with mine either. I use it to 'anchor' while catfishing on the Ohio River even. It works so well for that I don't even carry my heavy anchor anymore, even when there's a 3+ mph currents.

But the author of this statement should try "legacy" autopilot as it will let you slip drift with ease. Legacy only points the motor in one magnetic direction and doesn't matter where your going. If using advanced autopilot and not enough power to stay on the line, the motor will steer straight to the closest point on the line and try to get back on track. With more power it won't blow off the line. But this line is only in advanced autopilot. Imagine a map, pressing advanced autopilot drops a line, that line is where it wants to be.

Posts: 612 | Thks for all the feedback guys. If the winds past (12 to 15) / MPH my back - knees can't take it anymore (was a paratrooper in the 70's, took it's toll). So based on the feedback I'm very positive about using it! Edited by NPike 6/26/2020 3:43 PM
