Has anyone had any success fishing suspended muskies at night? If so, what lures have you had the best success with? Do any of you use walk-the-dog topwaters (Doc or Jackpot) since the muskies rise a little in the water column, or stick to a straight retrieve with a big 10" Jake or bucktail? Any help is appreciated.

Hi!

Based on my experiences, these night time suspened fish do definitely bite! I have caught them on Depthraiders and even topwaters and they have always been near high concentrations of baitfish. The baitfish, incidentally, are sometimes higher up in the water column at night, which allows you to throw noisy topwaters like creepers, topraiders,or globes or Thunderhead type lures to these fish over open water. Best cranbait colors have been sucker, night shiner, or all black. I hope this helps!

I'm with Tom on this, some of the biggest fish I have caught were night time suspenders using "ratteless depthraiders", another thing I have noticed is that the night suspenders seem to be more active on a DARK night - No Moon or heavy cloud cover
