Maybe it was my long-ago neighbor a few houses down. Watched him sand off an old skiff and re-paint it with ...... latex paint!

I ran my rig in the salt for a couple weeks in FL. I thought the piano hinge I installed was solid brass. Not so it was only plated and in a couple days it was a mess. Also quickly discovered a couple other hardware fasteners that were not stainless.
