My annual summer Eagle Lake trip is reserved, but I am looking for a back-up plan if I can't cross the border. Requirements in no particular order include dog friendly, cabin for 4, protected dock, muskies at least available. Vermilion? Alexandria area? Deer Lake? Hayward? Suggestions?

Plenty of resorts on Vermilion. I fear it's going to be packed if the canadian border is closed. It seems to be on everyone's backup list. Leech, Cass, Bemidji, Longville, and Alexandria, are other options. Deer doesn't have resorts to speak of.

I have fun on leech for longer trips. Walker is a nice town and I've stayed at Anderson's Cove before. They do allow dogs if I remember right.

What month? Mid-July to Mid-August, and then late-September on is peak fishing here at Leech. Like Kirby said.. Cass, Bemidji, Longvillle, Alex/DL area is solid too.

If you do go to Leech, click on this guy's link and give him a call.
