Posts: 358 | Looking at moving back into a tiller. Specifically looking at Ranger 620T's, but not locked in specifically on them. For those that own, or have fished in one, thoughts about the boat? Performance, fishability, speed, rough water, etc...

Posts: 670 Location: Otsego, MN | I owned in 2006-2009 and loved everything about it. EXCEPT back then it had a 115 Yamaha with no power steering. So on big water I thought it sucked holding onto the motor and powering up and over waves. I then went to a few other boats, but just purchased another 620T with a 150 Merc 4 Stroke. I have not gottenit in the water yet but It has Power Steering and way more power! I've fished in other ones all with 150-200 HP motors and then extra HP makes a world of difference. For muskies it's awesome and will store all the gear you have and give you tons of room. It will hold rods up to 9-6" in the lockers as well. I love them. They will fish small water and big water, and what ever you throw at it. Good luck finding one though as they don't build new ones anymore and are tough to find. When they show up they usually sell pretty quick.

Posts: 1762 | I haven't owned one yet! When my 20' Lund fiberglass ProV tiller sells the Rangers are on the list i'll be looking at along with Yar-Craft. Pedro, you will love the Big Tiller. I went from a 115 Yamaha on my Skeeter to a 200 hp Verado on the Lund. It's pretty cool.

Posts: 1037 | Buddy of mine had one, 620T. Thinking it was a 2005 model. While long, it seemed skinny. Very heavy, took wind and waves nicely. He had a 115 on it. Felt underpowered. Not sure if newer models are different. I've been in 18 foot Tuffy Tillers that are much wider and in my opinion, fished better. If I were in the market for a tiller, I'd for sure look at Ranger, but I'd make sure I checked out a lot of other boats, too.

Posts: 1762 | I believe the only 20' fiberglass tillers still in production are YarCraft, Warrior & Tuffy.
