Posts: 53 | I'm in the market for a new H stick. Looking for some feedback on the 8'6" Surgical Strike H and any comparison to the St Croix Premier 8'6"H. I've done a few searches and can't seem to find much on the Surgical Strike. I'm pretty familiar with the St Croix, but wanted to consider the Assault Stick as I've heard good things. Any help is much appreciated.

Posts: 10 | Bringing this one back from the dead since I'm looking at the exact same rod over a st croix since they're out of stock everywhere in Canada right now because the border has been closed for a month and it was just announced its closed for atleast another month because of covid. Are the chaos rods worth the $260 Canadian it'll cost me or should I just wait for the st croix premier rod for almost the same price? Only reviews or info I can find on the chaos are from sponsored guys. Anyone else using these? Hows durability? Fit and finish? I would be buying blind as they aren't available locally to me. Having a hard time spending almost $300 on a rod from a company that hasn't been around for a while. The chaos rods are most likely built in China when I believe the premier is still usa made. Thanks

Posts: 1023 | I am in Canada. Order from 5/0 Soorts. Great guy. I have a 9’6” XH Choas Assault Stick. Like it. Great value. It is softer than my slingblade and I use it for 6oz swimbaits and #8 blades. I don’t have a shorter rod but am guessing they would be a little stiffer. What are you planning to throw with it???

Posts: 11 | I can't help with the question, but have a look at Musky Ontario Lure Co as another place to buy from. I was looking for a new rod for this season and they are another seller of Chaos rods.

Posts: 224 Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I would really like to know an honest opinion as well. I know a couple of the musky you tubers I watch use them but I don’t really take the opinion of sponsored people. I know they are moderate fast instead of fast like most musky rods so they probably feel a little softer. I’m looking at getting a new rubber rod so I have narrowed it down to either the xxh 9ft or 9’6” assault stick, the 9’3” okuma evx xh, or the st croix premier 9ft xh. The st croix and okuma are both rated up to 16oz and the assault stick is like 20 I think. I like telescopic rods for the east storage but it’s not completely necessary. If anyone has any info on these rods I’d appreciate it. I have a few legend tournaments and have been a st croix fan my whole life so I always gravitate towards them, but I had an okuma evx xxh 8’6” that I just sold, I liked the rod but it was too short and didn’t load up enough for my liking. If anyone has some info on these rods I’d really appreciate it. Whichever I pick will most likely get paired up with a tranx 400 hg

Posts: 57 Location: Zimmerman | I have both the 8’6” xxh and the 9’3” Xh Okuma The 9’3” loads up much nicer than the 8’6” on rubber.

Posts: 716 | Not sponsored, don't own one. Tried one last year in Canada. Overall I liked it, more medium than fast action. I would call it closer to H than XH at least compared to a Predator. The slower action averages balances out the slightly softer flex and it worked well for the Poseidon's I was throwing. It's a nice product.
