Location: SW MI | I've been out of the game since 2013 and just starting to get back into it. I remember hearing that you can remove the rear hook on a Suick to improve action and since muskies usually T bone it you won't really miss fish. Is this still an accepted thing or am I remembering it wrong? |

Location: Eastern Ontario | Fished Suicks for 40 years without a rear hook since having one swing around and embed in a muskies eye. I don't think I lost any because of it but if I did and it saved a muskies eye it was a fair trade. |

Location: NorthCentral WI | I say leave it on. I am happy with the action as is and don't feel I've ever hurt any fish because of the rear hook. |

I've herd alot of handy types changing the hook hangers to make this lure a two hook lure (split the difference) i'd do this if I had the knowhow . I have bunch laying around maybe i'll sacifice a couple to get the knowhow.

Location: mercer wi | I don't think I've had a rear hook on a suick in over 10 years. Haven't lost a fish yet, the 3rd hook seem to always snag something, fish eye, net and my hand. |

Location: Walker, MN | I've been removing the rear hook on most of my 9" Suicks for a long time too. Looser tail action, and still good hook-ups. I've tried adding a spinner, but it will tighten the action back up a bit. Each wooden Suick has a slightly different action, so there is no wrong answer imo. Three treble hooks can be a gong show when a fish is hooked/netted. I do like 3 hooks on a 12"er however. |

Do you guys remove the middle and rear hooks leaving only the front
Or
Remove just the rear leaving the front and middle. |
