Hey guys, I am in need of some quick and serious help.

I have a older model (96) Minn Kota. It is a wireless foot pedal, auto pilot, powerdrive. I just had a local boating center re-wire the boat due to hillbilly rigging by previous owners.

I just got the boat home, checked out the new wireing, looks good.
Plugged in the trolling motor and nothing!!!!

Also the trolling motor base does not have the sticker that shows what button is the auto pilot and which is the on-off swich. From what I remember, the left one is the auto-pilot and the right switch is the on off, but am I wrong...again?

Supposed to be on the water at 7:00 am tomorrow and need help quick!
I know I should just take it to the place boating center that wired it, but it doesn't open till 10 am, and if there is a simple fix, I would appreciate it.

I am trying to make things work Bill R.!!!!

Thanks,
Mike Hulbert

Mike,

Not sure of this model. But, is there a circuit breaker(s) at the batteries that could be tripped? How about fuses? Is there any kind of indicator light to tell if the unit is getting power? You say it's a wireless pedal? Does it have a battery? 9 volt perhaps, that may be dead?

Shep,

There is a indicator light, and it is NOT lighting up.
Also the I just replaced the batteries in the foot pedal.
The fuses seem to be fine as well.

HELP! HELP! HELP!!!

Hulbert

Trolling motors suck! After spending several hours trying to figure out what the hell is wrong, cash on getting it re-wired, I am exactally where I started from.

Maybe I will just buy a new one, but please help if you have any ideas.

Thanks,

I am going to bed and dreaming about equipment that doesn't suck and trolling motors that work.

It probably has nothing to do with the trolling motor, and everything to do with the wiring. If the indicator light isn't active, I am fairly sure the motor is not getting power from your batteries.

The on /off switch is onthe left auto on the right. Make sure that you have cycled the motor and pedal properly by shutting both off then turn on motor switch then pedal switch. Also check the batteries in the pedal
