Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I'm going to say that there's no chance it's frozen over. I was on Leech on Tuesday and didn't see anything around that was frozen except from some really small ponds. Some of them were still partially open. I was on Cass on Sunday and there was a tiny bit of ice along the shoreline by the Wayside Rest in the reeds. But it's still at least a few weeks from freezing. Pike Bay is too big and too deep to have frozen over yet. Especially considering we haven't had any super cold nights with little or no wind. AWH

Posts: 1189 Location: Bagley,MN 56621 | thx AWH, didnt think it was true but... I just got off the phone with Break On The lake in Allen's bay of Cass. 20' of ice along the shoreline developed last nite. High of mid-twenties and back down to single digits tonite again. going to keep going. I was going up tomorrow mnorning but not sure if I can bust through or not. I have seen JomUsky bust through an inch but he had a good start in the High lake channel.

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I wanted to get out on Cass next week again. But it's looking kind of doubtful now, especially with the next two nights. It's supposed to get down to 0 to 5 tonight. And possibly 5 below on Friday night. Not what I want to see. Hopefully if things do freeze up, we can get a little warmer weather and a good wind to break things up. I'm not giving up yet!

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I just got an email from someone that told me the wayside rest landing is open. So I think I might give it a shot tomorrow. If you're looking at Wednesday, it looks like the forecast is for a very windy day that day.

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I was lied to. The wayside rest landing is frozen and there's ice well out into the lake. I was there this morning and there was no way I could have even attempted to break through the ice. I did see a boat on the lake though. So they managed to get on from somewhere, just not sure where.
