Kicking around the idea of putting a mast on my boat. If you have one, what brand do you use and what rod holders have worked best for you? Looking to do this as cheaply as possible. I will build my boards myself. I hear traxtech masts are great and may go that route. Do people always use tree rod holders, or could you get away with using a regular rod holder like a Scotty that’s already on the boat?

Ive got the cannon boards....clip 100Lb PowerPro and send them out as far as I want...then tie them off on the cleat. It works just fine for me.... use my downeasters. If youre looking for a cheap way to try it, here ya go
