Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I currently have Cabela’s guide wear non-insulated gear and would like to add an insulated set of one of the following to my ever growing collection of gear.
Cabela’s extreme guidewear with goretex
Striker climate - wished I could remove the floatation
Ice armor extreme advantage
Looking for something that is dry and warm. I prefer that if a suit is vented, that I can control the ventilation.
Floating is not required or preferred which is why I’m shying away from the striker gear. I have a mustang 38 lb inflatable that I wear. I prefer to avoid the bulk of added floatation.
Will not be used ice fishing, just for late fall casting and trolling in the boat. Flexibility to cast is a must. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Take a look at the Sportman's Guide bibs and jacket. Under $150 right now. Warm, easy to wear, and easy to move around. Have had one for 3 years, and just ordered another for like mid $60's for bibs and same for jacket.

Location: midwest | For a quality outdoor cold weather suit check out the Simms Challenger insulated bibs and jacket. It will keep you dry and is warm and is a very lightweight suit that affords mobility your looking for. They are not inexpensive pieces of outdoor gear but the quality of materials and design are there along with a company that stands behind their gear. |

| Sound like you want something for when it isn't too cold, but I thought I would share my experience with the Striker Climate. If it is about 30 degrees or warmer, I just layer under my regular waterproofs. However, if it is in the high teens or twenties and windy, I remove the inner layer of both the bibs and jacket, of the Climate suit, and it is perfect. You don't want to use the inner layer unless the water is hard, as it is quite warm. |
