Muskie Fishing -> General Discussion -> Invention?

Subject: Invention?

The local muskie lake I fish always has that top layer of green algae, or whatever it is. I can never see my leader and was wondering if putting glow paint on my leader would help? (I also night fish this lake a lot) I think someone should make something that you could put on your line 2" from the leader and reel up to eye w/out damaging the eye. How do you guys figure eight at night or in lakes with the green stuff?

Thanks,
MJB

Hey MJB,
I Use A glow in the dark bead in front on my leader and on my line when I night fish. This might help with the one problem, but not sure if it will work when covered in slime? I think cabelas has them and I'm sure any tackle supplier has them. Just bring a flashlight with and juice em' up every once in a while. I think it is probably less damaging to reel into the bead instead of the metal leader even if you cannot see it?
Good Luck[]

I don't know if anyone else has these problems, but Steve from G & S Guide service gave a great reply to my question on Muskiecentral.com. Glow beads is another good option.

Thanks,
MJB

I like to use slip-knots for walleye fishing,12" up from the leader knot and when you feel the BUMP,start your 8!I think the glow stuff is a pain in the arse and is time consuming.Just another way!!!!!! Jeff
