I nominate the Bagley Flat Side Glide Bait. Has been in the tackle box for 20+ years (until today) Never raised a fish for me. |

Location: Roscoe IL | I have a Creepenstein that I purchased at least 12 years ago I'm betting, that bait wont move a fish either. Think I paid $60 for it back then.. Tied it on plenty of times and it's a wallhanger for now since it still looks new.. I'm sure we will give it another try someday. |

My personal "tackle box dogs" are offset spinner baits and tubes. I have given each time over the years in what I believe to be varying and appropriate situations but have not raised a single fish on either!! I know that is hard to grasp, especially the offset spinner bait. I just haven't been able to get positive results.
**One man's trash is another man's treasure. Gliders have been money for me over the years for fish in the boat.....#3 on the list after #1 Mag Bulldawgs and #2 Double Tens. |

This is always an interesting topic to me.
For me as well. I know that lures are tools for different conditions/applications, but I admit to certain biases. I love burning bucktails and banging cranks. But I'm not really a fan of the rubber baits although I have had great luck with them. |

personally this glide is one of my springtime cold water favorites! works great for me. when worked right it will dive and rise as well as glide and roll. i guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and sir that "dog" can hunt.

| Gliders are great if you just want to see a fish follow your lure. I'll admit to knowing a few guys who really put fish in the boat with them. IMO you can achieve the same results with a suspending crankbait, and they hook a lot better. But that's just me. I have a buddy who catches a bunch of fish on Burts. No thanks. Don't even own one anymore.
I don't want to bash any particular brand of lure. Nearly all of them work with the right a-hole at the other end of the rod. But I've had a few that made maybe 10 casts before I said "wow. That thing really sucks" and never threw them again. |

| For me its any straight shafted bucktails. I never catch anything on them. Do 100% better with any thing with a split ring joint in it for whatever reason. |

I wonder if it water fished that dictates success/failure? Fat B***
***d and Nite Walker have been good for me. I do get action on WTD lures like the Weagle, but the percentage of hook ups is not as good. |

Location: KY | KY and N.WI lakes are where I get to fish. That probably does make a difference.
They miss the WTD top water more times than not for sure. The hook up ratio is better on other baits but I get more action on the WTD. I would guess I get one in four of the fish that blow up on a WTD. If you compare that to other baits that might have a 50:50 hook up but get lots of follows without bites or only get a few bites away from the boat it evens out. While it may be frustrating to see a fish explode out of the water and not get hooks in them I would rather see that than lots of low and slow follows or no action at all. |
