Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | Any ideas on what is available for the larger lures these day's? The Lakewood Monster is 15.5" high but for Frankensuicks & larger cranks, that's looks to be a tad short. The Justincase are on another level and and too expensive for my budget.

Do you really want to settle for second best? Work a couple hours overtime, sell a few baits, And get the JUSTENCASE....Custom and very durable!!! JD

JD I sent them an email and they were quick to respond. Bob can make one to whatever specs I want. Going to have one built for the big rubber, longer cranks, Frank's and Long Shumway's... So I'm going in that direction now. Thanks for the tips everyone.

Posts: 157 Location: West Central WI | Just a thought about perspective. If you can afford all those giant baits to fill a big box, then you can afford the box. Not criticizing, just need to point out how much those baits cost compared to "normal" baits and realize that the box is proportionally inexpensive to your investment in what goes in those slots. In the end, a justincase box is a good investment.

Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | The cost of the box vs the cost of the bait's makes sense. You could also say that by saving on the box you could buy more baits with the remaining cash. Who am I kidding, I'll buy the baits anyway. It's not a passion it's a problem/sickness. These Justencase boxes are sweet, and the company sure is easy to work with. They know what I want more than I do.

Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | That's the truth. So Bob is making a box for me and of course being the friendly salesperson he is, has me measuring the boat for a full blown deck box as an addition to the back of the boat as well. This would add more room for baits and extend the back casting deck. I do this all the time, I try to behave myself and next thing I know I have overdone it. I have no self control! I'll have some explaining to do...

Posts: 1735 | The explaining all ends with the simple answer of : Would you rather have me spending my money in a bar drinking & gambling or buying a tackle box that I will hand down to the grand-kids." Of course that means staying out of the bars. Or just take the hit and ask for forgiveness.

Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | Just Encase delivered the new box last night. I stared at it like it was an exotic dancer for a few hours. The workmanship is top notch and it exceeded my expectations. Holds the larger baits perfectly. They deserve a shout out..

Posts: 27 Location: Badger State | I love threads like this. Subject stated clearly with (my opinion) ToothyCritter looking for encouraging comments about spending more money than he could justify in his own mind. Comments by all were helpful and sincere with no criticism; all by fellow muskie fishermen who’ve been there before. The outcome was better than expected and all of us are happy that ToothyCritter will go forward with a piece of equipment that will make him feel good every time he’s on the water. Whether it’s an expensive box, high-end rod or real, advanced electronics, a bigger/better boat, or something else, he realized his dream and the rest of cheer him on. This is a great sport. I love happy endings.

They are only available at Thorne Brothers however as they quit producing them. I have 2 Extremes and 1 very large Just Encase for baits up to 26" long. 12" Plows, 14" Jakes, 14" Frankensuicks, etc. fit perfectly into the Extreme.
