Im up here on eagle lake. Water temps where iv fished have been 46 to a touch over 50 on my graph. Have been mostly trolling 70% and casting 30% the lake with little success compared to previous years. Boated 1 fish per day over last 3 days ( all low 40s) and have lost a unusual amount of fish over the days. The weather has gotten warm with the strong south which i personally dont like in fall and definitely favor a Nw or north wind..

My question is how do northern anglers feel about strong warm southern winds at this time of the year?

N/NW wind is ideal w/also and steady drop in water temps. Warm fronts w/ the accompanying S/SW winds at this time of year always seem to kill the fishing for us. That said, it makes for some of the most enjoyable fishing. Nice warm fall day, lake to yourself... There's always a chance of a jumbo.
