Sad looking boat, all covered up and snowed on. Supposed to get 5" here today, which ended any plans I thought I had to try Pelican tonight. Maybe we will get another warming trend.

What's wrong with fishing in the snow?

answer to Jomusky:

Winter Weather Advisory

2 to 4 inches of additional accumulation by this evening. Snow may be mixed with sleet and rain at times.  WInds from the East at 20 MPH. Steady to falling temperatures in the low thirties.

It's the wind that made me flinch. Snow isn't so bad, but rain and snow in a 20 MPH wind is not all that much fun, so I will pass!

This is the weather that seperates the men from the weekend warriors.
I love this time of year and look forward to breaking ice and being the only one on my lake system. I do believe that the 3rd weekend in NOV last year, I had tip-ups out up by me.

Nothing like Musky's for 6 hours, going in, having some chilli to warm up the bones..and then right back out again for some Walleyes and night fishing.

With not 1/8 the amounts of boat traffic, the fishing only gets better and better.

Looking at the long range forecast, this will be my last weekend out on the water. After that it appears as if the lakes will most likely be paved for the icefishermen.

No highs over 35 for the next couple of weeks and lows in the teens every night. The water will be awful crunchy by the time the 15th rolls around.

I just looked at weather.com and twords the 12th, it looks like 40, maybe we'll get a small warming trend that will keep the water soft.

We got about two inches of ice, snow, and sleet last night, and it looks like highs in the thirties for the next several days.
