Anyone have a chance to use these yet? The feel of the palming reel seat seems very nice.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | I was looking at that rod last week. It's a nice rod but the handle was too short for my liking.

Posts: 1000 | Haven't casted them, but that handle coating felt really nice. Spoke with the guys at the NW sportshow and it sounded like a 9'6" and 10 footer might be in the works. Love their bass rods.

Posts: 161 Location: New Jersey | I just got one last week. I haven't fished with it yet, but I really like the design. I'm interested to see if the foam on the butt is more comfortable sitting between my arm and side over the course of the day. The reel seat is super comfortable for palming too. It's the same weight rating as my Sling Blade, but after messing around in my backyard with a 4-oz. bait it loads up a lot better and seems like it still has plenty of power. I've tested some of their concept reels and rods out, and although they're a newer company they make good stuff.

Posts: 63 | Ive had a chance to use them and I love them. 18" handles are very nice. Ive thrown everything up to a pounder on the 8'7" XH. I have also heard a 9' in the works. I have the 8'1" H and 8'7" XH and they were the only two rods that saw anytime on the water last season. I am adding another 8'7" to the rod quiver this year.

Are you looking at these for sucker fishing? With all the pictures I seen that you post you always seem to refer to live bait so I just assumed that was all you did...Sorry if I was mistaken. What you plan on using it for?

Posts: 161 Location: New Jersey | I fished with this rod for most of the day last Friday and I was very impressed. I have the 8'7" 2-6oz. H and was tossing a 6-plus ounce swim bait with it all day with ease. The rod has a ton of power, but loads up great. Unfortunately didn't have a chance to see how it fights a fish. Had one come in low and slow on the 5th cast and then noonan for the next 8-plus hours.

Posts: 54 | They do have a 300 size reel with two handles. I think that might be the largest at this time. davemp

Posts: 921 | My buddy and I have been using the Omens for a few years now. No issues. Lots of muskies caught on them. I love that the trigger is moved back, feels way better in my hand.
