Posts: 183 | Anyone use this reel? Apparently it came out at ICAST last year but I must have missed it. 24 lbs drag, a touch more line capacity than a tranx 300, option for power handle, two gear ratios, and... only $199. The 7.2 brings in 35" per turn and that'd be great to pair with what I've got now. Lews are made in the same factory as Abus so would this be like a Toro S 50 but $50 cheaper?

Posts: 183 | The Revo Toro S and Beast models are solid. And ive had good experience with Revo and a Lews bass reel. But everybodys got their own opinions.

Posts: 8 | I have the SD300 in 6.3:1 gear ratio. I paired it with a 7’11” bass rod. I use it primarily for fishing 3/4ounce musky killers. It’s a bass size real. Not as large as a lexa 300 or curodo 300. For instance my curodo has a 6.2:1 gear ratio and takes up more line. It’s a strong reel for it size but even when you use a larger bucktail like a bucher 700 it will struggle a bit. Id only use it for small baits.

Posts: 72 | Bought one this spring. Has the 6.4ish gear ratio and the longer handle...105mm? I like it. Can palm it easy if wanted and throws bucktails to size 8 fine in my opinion. I need a nicer rod for it now as the 7'6" I have now has a short rear handle....may mod it. I put 65lb braid on it and it casts really nicely too. SO far so good. Time will tell.

Posts: 72 | been using this now most of the summer. I did put an oversized Rocky's handle on it..( made here in WI ). What a difference for casting larger baits. Reel is holding up fine and feels solid reeling in giant clumps of weeds, the occasional stick and even elusive 30" pike. No ski's yet on it. I do feel this reel may be bad luck...…...

Posts: 72 | well tonight the luck changed. Pulled in a big one. Just under 50" and 30lbs!!! Reel handled it like a pro. Really hard to net that fish as I was all alone!

Posts: 16 | It's a good reel. I used it all last year. Solid build and the right size so you can cast all day... good lord, we're not shark fishing... granted we are throwing 2 pound baits. I threw some big dussas with it last year and it did fine.

Posts: 72 | I'll likely buy another within a year. I will also put a Rocky's lures oversized handle on it. This reel is super nice to use and easy to adjust. What are you guys using for line on it?
