I was there last week and stayed at AML, fished the surrounding water. It was tough for us but we had multiple fronts everyday and a lot of wind. I would say you're hitting it at the perfect time as fishing picked up towards the end of the week. I also heard the fishing was a little better south of the match line.

Thanks. We’ll be staying at North shore and be fishing in that area primarily. How were the weeds up around AML? Last year when we spent a day up that way we had trouble finding good weeds like we had in the last.

You probably already know this but Vermillion Bay north of Strawberry Island usually has good weed beds. havent been there in a couple years but the 2 times I did go held lots of weeds. Good luck and let us know how it went!

Thanks Uglypike. Yeah we had heard it and saw t for ourselves last year. Really sad. Maybe someone can comment but I heard it as Rusties. That weedbed was massive the first year I went there. Perfect weedbed for some newbs to drift for half the day. Friend said he had a follow there that you could see its head on one side of the boat and it’s tail on the other...

The weeds are up North of strawberry. We fished it and saw a few fish and caught one.

Was up July 6-13 and stayed at Evergreen. We fished everything South of Temple Bay down to Meridan and El Dorado. Had a tough week with a couple of good days mixed in when it was overcast with some wind. My boat ended up with 5 for the week with the two biggest coming in at 48" and 50 1/8". The weeds we fished showed very few active fish. We had the best luck around small mid-lake islands and wind blown points. Blades and topwater were moving all of our fish except for one nice fish I boated on a Suick.

Stayed at North shore lodge from 7/13- 7/20 mostly stayed on that end of the lake.
My buddy and I boated 13 all over 40" up to 49.5" lost 4 nice ones also
Walleye mag Swim dawgs and Spanky 99's and 8's were top baits
On sunny days in the clear water they wanted this color and the 2 biggest fish we saw were on it (53"ish):

That's a really nice week numbers wise! What were the key locations/structures?

A week like that on eagle would bring tears to my eyes haha! We will be staying on the east end too in mid September though. I know it will depend on water temps, but is this a time of year when they get really shallow? Any tips on strategy?!

Everything was 2 weeks behind water temps were still 67-68. Weeds were best. Got a few low 40"s off reefs.

I agree, cannot wait to fish Eagle Lake again this year. Aug. 24th week and Oct. 5 week at AML. Would be very happy with Jeff's weekly total.

Definitely rusties! There used to be so many good weed beds in that area, but now there are only a couple. The couple that still remain do hold a lot of fish, but they are pretty well known and get fished a lot. It used to be so nice jumping from one small weed bed to another around flat top, sunset, etc. I wonder how long it'll take the rusties to destroy the remaining weeds in that area

Get the best map chip: the new one. Nothing is marked and it can be very dicey getting around.

Everything around Temple Bay and straight South in the Central portion of the Lake is marked with jugs and navigation is quite easy. I cant speak to the Coleman's Reef area.

There is a new reliable map chip? Do tell.

Fished it the last 9 days. Fishing in was slow. Only seeing a few fish a day. The ones we saw were generally active. Bigger fish were coming off of rocks. Most fished moved on blades. Not much on wood or crank baits.
