| Where I fish is probably like where you fish only different. There are a whole set of romantic, mood type, nostalgic things that you will take to the grave with you when you have finally thrown the last cast. For instance, one of the things that I will always remember about this area is the way you mark dusk. No, it's not the turkeys clucking and fluttering around like giant starlings on the ridge above, no, it's not the deer that come down to drink at the lakeside, it is instead marked by subtle color changes in the fading light, when you can no longer tell if it's a white clorox bleach bottle or a yellow penzoil container glowing on shore.
Full dark is when you can no longer tell the difference between the abandoned refrigerator and the abandoned tires.
Alas, I grow sentimental, forgive me.

Good to know the Purkinje Shift even occurs in the hills of Kentucky! Paint those refrigerators chartruese or lime green... and you can add a few more minutes to your day (ha ha). |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | If the glow in the fridge onshore is yellowish, it is still plugged in to the household up the holler, and holds the shore fishing stash. Since you can see the door is open, maybe that is an invitation to help yourself... |
