| Has anyone had luck throwing large plastic swim baits this fall? When I sucker fish I usually tie one on for a period of time but haven't had a hit this fall. They work well in the summer and seem perfect for slow deep presentations in mid-late fall.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I use Creatures alot in the Fall if the fish are on the edge or deeper and if I feel they are 'moving'. I have had incredible days using jigs and days that were very slow, so no 'magic' bait is involved. The best part of fishing soft plastics is the mixed bag one can expect, and the fact BIG muskies do hit jigs! |

| Muskycore,I use 5" swim baits by Storm. Hookups are pretty good for only one single hook. The bite is usually very light, you have to react quickly to any bump. My largest is a 45" fish. Good luck! |

We had great sucker action on a N WI river system this past weekend, but classic artificials (cranks and jerks) were not producing at all. My friend decided to try a large size Tiger Tube and had multiple fish action on it, with one boated. I took the liberty of plagiarizing and snapped one on and missed a decent fish on it the same day. Not technically a swim bait but large plastic nonetheless. Give it a shot. |
