Was wondering what you guys could recommend for a rod that can do boards well and also sucker fish with quickstrike rigs. Not looking to spend much more than $70 otherwise I might as well get the chaos tackle ones. I looked at ugly stik tigers but wasn't sure what one to get for that application. Also I need two piece since my rod locker is small and I have a small boat. Thanks in advance!

Those two applications are very different with regards to rod choice. For boards I want something that has a moderate taper and really loads up. I use TDR's and Tiger Rods. Sucker rods I want something that has a ton of backbone in a glass rod. The only rid that comes to mind that does both is a Custom X trolling rod but the St. Croix Premier glass rod is ok.

Thanks for the feedback! I run TDRs for my board rods right now, so maybe I need to swap out one of my down rods with something that can do bigger baits and be a sucker rod.

Some guys might look down on it but check out the Berkley e-cat rods. The brown 7'06" heavy is a bad arse rod that could troll big heavy baits and would make an awesome sucker rod in cold weather. Kdawg
