| Does anyone have a set up for taking their helix with them on another boat? I don't want to mess with chips. Could I just take a couple of cordless drill batteries and alligator clip on? Any idea how long a battery would last? I could turn the screen down to low brightness? There is no 12v power port on board either. |

Location: Ashland WI | I used to take my helix 9 ice fishing. Using a standard ice fishing battery, I could get all day out of it. I did keep the GPS off though. Not sure how much difference that would make. |

Location: MN | It’ll work running to a standard 12 volt deep cycle boat battery with banana clips.
I run a lithium battery the size of an ice fishing battery and it’ll last all day. Regular non lithium flasher batteries will usually only last 3-4 hours if running gps. I installed the clips that come on flashers on the wire ends. I primarily bought that battery for my ice fishing flasher to cut down on the weight but it’s been nice for summer applications. |
