Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I am taking my son and law out for the first time and would like to try some different lakes. Looking around the area of Trout lake, North Twin, Long Lake, Wildcat or Big Sand. Open to suggestions too. Maybe something off the beaten path. Going in the last week in September. Thanks again for your help. |

Location: oswego, il | Stop off at Rollie and Helen's and see if they have any fishing the north country books left. There is one for that area. Google Wisconsin musky lakes and download the PDF to your phone. Tells you where to start looking. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Thanks Todd. I have the PDF. Been looking it over for a few weeks. Just wanted a little help. I just keep going in circles on some places. Just seeing if I over looked a couple places. |

| There are some big ones in Trout Lake based on the spearing data, but I'll leave you with this quote from the 2016-17 creel survey to give you an idea of the fish density.
"Anglers spent 1,274 hours targeting muskellunge during the 2016-17 season. Muskellunge fishing effort was greatest in
October (383 hours). There was no documented catch or harvest of muskellunge during the survey."
To add, I fished it the first time with a guide about 2 years ago. He basically said his buddy asked him where he was at and laughed when he told him Trout. Avoid it unless you love trolling 25-40'.
