Have a family trip to Eagle River / Three Lakes area the week of the 18th in August. Will be staying near the north end of Eagle Lake. I am used to fishing the Madison area and the Chip, but not the Eagle River / Three lakes chains.

Any thoughts on which lakes typically produce better that time of year...assuming water temps will be in the lower 70s or upper 60s by then looking at the LT forecast. Not sure how much the water between the lakes on the chain change.

That time of year in Madison, fish seem to still be deeper, but it is a completely different fishery up there I would imagine.

Open to trailering / fishing any part of the chain...like everyone else...just want to give myself the best chance at hooking up with a fish. Scattering Rice, Eagle, Catfish and Big Lake look promising on a map, but that doesn't seem to always translate when you are on the water.

Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions in advance!

It’s not that big of water. Do some searching on all lakes, sometimes one or two of them will turn on while the others don’t ( know this from tournaments). Keep an open mind and if they don’t bite during the day give it a try at night if possible
