How will I know the turnover is happening and over? What's different about fishing the turnover period, and just after? Thanks!

With 1392 post you should know it all by now don't ya think? just kiddin.
After turn over is a great time of year cause the water temps are relatively stable. Stability both in weather, which dose not happen very often in fall and water conditions means better fish movements, meaning fish when they become active may move toward the shallows and within our reach. good luck, jerry borst

The turnover is progressive, and usually starts when the water is in the high 50's. It doesn't happen overnight, but over a period of a week or two, depending on the weather.

During the turnover I try and stick to deep weed edges, , anywhere I can find them, but that can vary quite a bit depending on many factors.

After the turnover I tend to look more specifically at shallow structure inside of 10', and the spot on the spot, hoping to find cover on it. Most people are trolling by then, but I like to cast, and have had success with it.

Good fishin',

Tyler
