Jimmy and I had a great Sunday! We made all the wrong decisions right! It was by far one of the best couple of hours I have ever spent on the water! Everything clicked at the right time and 5 fish later (one did not measure) we were standing on stage receiving a Happy Gilmore check! It was definately the highlight of my season. Thad's a great stick and fun guy to share the boat with, I had a blast all weekend.
The IL DNR Directors Tournament is a great event. It was our first time fishing the tournament and definately not our last. They had an awesome pig roast for us on Friday, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, another dinner Saturday night, it was great. The tournament is well run, judge boats are VERY fast (no transport) and great hospitality.
Shelbyville is the best musky lake in Illinois in my opinion. It can really put out fish and all of them are thick. I know we are both looking to next year. Thanks for kind words. See you at the FRV Meeting in November.
