If talking about bigger Minnesota lakes like Mille Lacs, Leech, Vermilion how much does water temp play into the bite? Do you waste your time shallow casting below a certain water temp or after it reaches a certain temp? Same question on trolling. Is there temps you are just wasting gas trolling? Are there temp ranges the fish go from shallow to mid lake to deep water?

All dumb questions I know, but if I don't ask I won't know.

One MN opener we saw 1 fish relaxing shallow 58*, the next year on the same lake on opener we saw 100+ and caught fish 58* water. Would love to understand these fish more.
