| For those of you who put mono backing on your reels, how much do you do? I’ve heard some say very little and some say 1/3 of a spool or more. Thanks. |

| Depends on the reel my TE700 and Tranx 500’s have over 1/3 of the capacity in backing |

Location: NE Ohio | it all depends on how much, what lb test, and how full you want your spool of braid when done. every reel is different with spool widths. its a trial and error thing until you get the first one right then take a picture of it so you can repeat - if all of your reels are the same. |

| I put 100 yards of braid on my reels, then fill it up on top with mono, once I have to correct amount, i flip it around to get the mono under the braid. |

| do the math look at the line specs of ur reel.make sure that you got enough room for 200f of 100 pound braid.i don't know if you will need more than that if it's less than 100lbs. but whit 100 lbs no fish on earth will grab you more than 100f of line if your drag is set properly. |

Location: Michigan | I usually do about 2/3 filled with backing and 1/3 filled with braid. A ton of braid isn't really needed as we don't cast that far. If you fill the reel completely with braid then you are wasting a lot of line and money. And if you keep cutting line and get all the way down to that braid then you aren't using the reel gear ratio to it's full capabilities. |
