Posts: 79 | I have several glidebaits in the 5-7oz range..any recommendations? I’m 6’2” and I currently use a 7’9” Veritas toro (13 Fishing Concept A3) for my 2-4oz glides and love the setup..I’ve been using a St Croix Musky Mojo 8’ with a Abu Beast HS for these size baits and I hate it. It’s great for certain baits but not this application. Thinking of going with a stout 7’-7’2” size rod..or going bigger around 8’6”. Obviously, I’m all over the place. Appreciate any advise.

Posts: 79 | I did. I need an IPT or 35” better..the big lures pull a large slack spot and I need it picked up quick..probably going to put a Tranx 401AHG to get up to 40”...this rod will only serve one purpose..but appreciate the advise. Swat stick shall be checked out..I’ve pretty much stick to what I can see where I’m located..I don’t live in the Musky states so I don’t have access to many poles to check. I’m probably the only Musky baitmaker in my state!

Posts: 1037 | Tough to beat that Bulldog Rod, Pro Series, 7.5 footer XH. I had that rod and put a Shimano 400D on it. Perfect glide setup for me. Reel is offset so it is easy to palm, rod is amazing.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Tackle Industries XH is perfect for those weight ranges. The sweet spot of the TI Musky XH is 2-8oz. https://tackleindustries.com/product-category/musky_pike_bass_walley... Thanks James

Posts: 57 Location: Zimmerman | Okuma makes/made a EVX 7’4” heavy rated 2-10 oz that throws gliders nice if you want a cheaper option. Otherwise the cream in my mind would be a Thorne predator XH 7’ 1/2” to 8’

Posts: 485 Location: On my favorite lake! | For glide baits I like a shorter rod for easpeically smaller ones. Around 7 ft -7’6 depending on size for me. It’s easier to work baits you lose a little on controlling the fish and casting distance but can cast very accurately.

Posts: 79 | James, looking at your site, u don’t see an 8’ XH. Telescoping 9’ or XH 8.5’ is sold out..am I missing it?

Posts: 393 | I love using glide baits and have a dedicated setup with a HS Tranx 400 and custom 8 ft heavy Predator with 2" off the tip. I found the Heavy action rod with 2 " off the top a nice comprise and made the rod more versatile. I used it all last year and it was the perfect balance of speed, length and action. For what it is worth.

Posts: 99 Location: West Virginia | Lots of guys recommended the Bulldawg Pro rods. I bought the 8' h and couldn't be happier. I use it for glide baits from 2.5oz to 7 oz and it does a great job. Seriously, one rod for all my glidebaits. I am now a big fan of their rods. I will say that in comparing the bulldawg rods, the pro series is the way to go.
