Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Has anyone ever seen a book that deals with reel repair and maintenance? Abu Garcia has all the schematics for their reels on their web site, as do several other manufacturers, but what about an actual book that explains what to look for and why. I searched the net and couldn't find one. I would have thought that by now someone would have written a book that highlights the various problems with the most commonly used reels. I decided I am not going to pay someone else to fix my reels, and I can use the schematics to order parts, but it would be nice to know why parts go bad and what to look for. |

Location: London, England | I Have a couple of articles on my site http://www.timkelly.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/lasreel%20maintanence.html is one and it links to another on mending some problems. Dave Lumb also has some similar pages on his amb01 site http://freespace.virgin.net/dave.lumb/amb01/01trouble.html Hope they help. If there are any rich people who do similar for Shimanos maybe they'll post, although of course they never go wrong, do they? |
