I was using my foot pedal, when my trolling motor decided that it wanted to turn right all on its' own. No matter what I tried with the foot pedal, it intermittently wanted to turn to the right. I disconnected the pedal and the motor worked fine when using the hand held remote. Does anybody know what is going on and/or what I can do to resolve this issue?
The motor is approximately 7 yrs old but has only been used for 2 to 3 weeks per year.
Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
TR

Use compressed air and blow out between top pedal and base. Sometimes dirt and/or grains of sand get stuck in the contacts and don't allow/ allow only one function.

Make sure you don't have the cable to the foot pedal pinched anywhere. I had one start turning on its own and finally figured out the cable had gotten under the edge of a seat post.
