Anyone have any fishing reports on LOTW lately? Going up tonight for a week and seeing if anyone has been up lately. TIA

I was up with family and managed to get out a few hours here and there. landed 3, lost 1 in about 9 hours total (fishing afternoon to sunset). We found fish on the rocks and reeds, but not weeds. small blades were the ticket.

Not to steal the thread, but I was actually going to post one anyway, so I thought I'd piggyback on this. My buddies and I are heading up to the Morson/Sabaskong Bay section of LOW on Friday, we're staying at Obabikon Bay Camp for a few days, and are hoping to catch a musky or two. I've heard that September can be boom or bust based on how far along they are in their fall transition patterns, and that it's usually a topwater/bucktail bite around weeds, or a crankbait/jerkbait bite on the rocks? Obviously that's over-simplifying it, but with all that territory to cover, we have to start breaking it down somehow. Fishing bays and weeds is pretty standard, but we've never musky fished big main lake structure like channels/narrows, reefs, islands, and other "complexes", so figuring out how to dissect those is my main concern. Thanks for any advice, information, or reports you guys can give!

My experience has been that the SE side of islands and rock humps have a good number of fish even in the transition time you spoke of. Bouncing cranks are good and fish will set up on the down wind side. On an earlier trip this year using my spotlock to position on certain areas of windy mid lake reefs was a bonus for me. Be strategic and thoughtful about your casting angles and it will pay off. My go to crank this year was a 7" livid fish in a perch or walleye color. Lips are worn down to the white meat!!!

I'll be headed up to NW Angle this coming Sunday - fishing Monday through Friday. How's the bite been? I've read through most of the threads about LotW on here over the last couple months, but this will be my first time up there - any tips for this time of year?

Looking at the forecast I would start trolling some if not finding many fish.

I was just in Kenora, got back on Monday. Fished the Southern area + bus stop area. Not a lot of follows. We hit some crazy weather, heat wave one days, 2 lightning storms, water around 63 - 65. They were biting single silver blades with black and black/green skirts. Mid reef lake humps, better with a saddle, some were shallow some were in the deep off of it suspended. Heard similar reports from others while up there. We only got 1, lost 3. One absolute monster, broke off, had a snag just before, likely frayed the line, always check your line was my big lesson.

Heading up a week from now. Will be staying on an island near yellow girl bay. I’m thinking with the current weather that water temperatures will be low enough that trolling will be what I will try first. Does the group have any suggestions/ locations for the area? How would you approach it?

Just got back today. One (36") in the boat, raised about 5 others on Monday, then everything just tanked, one follow the rest of the week. It was rough (for me at least), couldn't seem to find 'em anywhere.

Good time overall though.
