Guys,

I'm trying to find a page that lists what a fishing boat is required to have in Ontario. I used to have it, but now I'm going from memory and thought that may have faded a little.

What I remember is:
1. a non electric bilge device,
2. paddle,
3. whistle or non electric horn,
4. 100' of anchor rope

List of what can't be aboard:
1. Alcohol

Can someone point me in the right direction to the official page?

I do not know if it is required... but, I would add a decent spotlight to the list. Looks like a flashlight or flares is a requirement.

Good luck... and be safe!

The link Reelwise provided is a good list of some safety equipment you may want to bring, but hat list is required only of Canadian owned and registered boats. Boats registered outside of Canada must follow its country of orgin's safety requirements. So, follow your normal US boating laws.

Just be sure there's (working) batteries in the flash light, have heard of people getting nailed for not having them.

I've always assumed my headlight would check that box as well.

Yes, make sure your light has good batteries.
And it can not rely on the battery from the boat (like a big spotlight). It has to be self sufficient.

Curious if anyone knows what the fines would be for drinking on a boat in Canadian waters?Mainly like a body of water like St clair. You could break 5 different laws in a normal fishing boat ,a 1st offense minimum is a 1000 dollar fine.Interesting.
