Anyone have a reliable method for adding a trailer hook to a barbless trailer spinnerbait?

You need a piece of surgical tubing over the hook eye then run the spinnerbait hook through the tubing threading the hook eye. Have fished them like that for years, works great.

Another option :
You might try putting about a 30 degree bend down on the eye of the trailer with the barb pointing up. Lastly slide a rubber skirt band over the barb of the main hook to keep the trailer hook from sliding off if the eye is too large. This enables the trailer to rotate freely up and down and from side to side.

I think a large bait button would work fine. It's made to hold things in place on a hook....Davemp

not an easy one.without barb it's almost impossible.barbeless for a bait loaded of dangerous treble is really cool for you and the fish but imo spinnerbait is really ok with barb, just 2 single hooks are not gonna do a lot of damage.the tube is not gonna work without a barb so don't waist your time. the only way that would work would be to talk with a pro that could weld a lil c in the middle of the u of the main hook.i think it's a special welding technic called plasma but im not sure . i have seen a larry dalbergh video at youtube , he have make something like that.i think it's really not cheap
good luck

I have seen the bait buttons but wonder if they will work on a barbless spinnerbait hook.

There are two sizes of bait buttons. The large one looks like some durable material. It may work well....davemp

Just thinking. Would a small dab of solder work instead of the weldment?....davemp
