I'm building some spinnerbaits for a muskie trip to Whitefish Bay on LOTW in August and wonder if using 100% Flashabou skirts is too much flash for the clear water?

I've fished the dark water on Sabaskong and too much flash is never a problem.
But in researching this trip I have read that natural finish hard baits are preferred when fishing muskie in clear water so it has me reconsidering using 100% Flashabou skirts on the spinnerbaits I plan to build and and possibly switching to silicone or marabou skirts with no or little flash.

Any thoughts based on clear water experience?

It doesn't bother them on the clear waters of LSC, though burning them in helps.

Fish some lakes with 20ft + visibilities and it doesnt seem to bother them in the least.

I don't think it would hurt one bit. All it does it make it easier for them to see from farther away. Don't be afraid of to much shine because most baitfish are naturally very shiny.

I often fish the brightest orange or flash I can in clear water. Fish usually approve.

I have a lot of confidence in flashabou, in clear water. Bright colors even. Actually, my #1 producing baits over the years.

Chrome cranks work well at Whitefish, so I would think flashabou would also work well.

Thanks for all your practical experience. I'll proceed as planned with the Flashabou skirts.

I also use flashabou in clear water lakes and find it to work well. I like using flashy metallic baits in clear water, actually.
