Straight retrieve, jig it, jerk it, pump it.  You can't do it wrong, if it's in the water, then it is working.

The most productive way to work a Bulldawg??? 1) Just getting it in the water. 2) A straight slooooooooow retrieve "did I mention slow" through the weeds or grass is a very good bet especially when fishing shallow easy to spook fish. 3) And probably my most productive method, is a steady retrieve with a sideways jerking motion like you would work a Suick or a Reef Hawg. Occasionally skipping them across the weed tops at high speed retrieves works when the fish are in an aggressive feeding manner.
