Just bought some new muskie sized rattle baits, here's the problem they split. ANYONE else having this problem with these big rattlebaits?? At $14 each it kinda sucks throwing this money away for a lure(s) that lasted 1 day.

How did they split? Were they in a box under the sun or in alot of heat? I have had a few plastic baits split and deform that way. I would also contact the manufacturer and see what they will do for you.

Not sealed correct, not a good clear coat and/or the wrong wood was used or possibly the wood used had high moisture before shaping... Contact the manufacturer.

Obviously what everyone else said. If you left them in a box in direct heat and sunlight, that can happen. Sounds like plastic lures, right?

sometimes those problem looking baits become real gems. Even if short lived.

http://www.h2otackle.com/crank-baits/barbarian/ . Solid plastic thru-wire construction, Muskie size at about 7 inches, double line tie, weight insert for adding weight, made in the USA. These will not split!

Sorry to hear that you had issues with lures purchased
Over the years I have learned to stick with what and WHO works
Roger makes some real good baits that catch fish
Best of Luck
