| 2009 Yamaha 4 stroke vs 2009 Evinrude Etec. Both motors with 600 hours. How much more do you think the Yamaha is worth cost wise? Thanks |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Retail on both is comparable, look at NADA Guides on the interweb. The big bore Evinrudes are very spendy, a lot of which is in the peripherals. Both are excellent engines. |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Impossible to answer that question. Person A versus person B might be two entirely different opinions and worries. I personally don’t know many guys that would choose the Ficht over a Yamaha in that year range but hey...I’m sure they exist. Somewhere...

2009 is not a ficht. I believe the last year for those were 2003 or so. Both are great engines and I’ve owned both. Last boat was a Yamaha, new one has an ETec. If they are on the same hull and the same horsepower they should be comparable but I agree it seems Yamaha seems to add more money. Those yammys are reliable but man do those ETecs have snort! |
