| Howdy,
Between these two nets, which do you recommend as an all around net where half of your time is spent fishing alone?
I'm pretty sure I should go with the 8425, however, since I have not used both on the water I am not sure if the Kahuna is as unwieldy as I think it will be, particularly with a 9' rod.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My boat is 22' long so I'm less concerned with storage and more concerned with weight and bulkiness.

| I own both nets. Love the Kahuna with a partner but definitely not a net for fishing solo in my opinion. I use the 8425 most of the time. |

Location: Madison, WI | The kahuna is a beast of a net, definitely not one I’d want to use alone. Also I feel like it’s way over sized for 95% of muskies caught anyway. The 8425 is a great net and plenty big enough. The drifter xxl is pretty much sized between the two frabil nets of you want a happy medium? |

| Power catch for sure for solo fishing. It will net any size fish just fine too! |

If a guy was going to have two of the following four nets, which would you recommend for solo fishing and for fishing on big water with a net man:
Big Kahuna
8425 Power Catch
9530 Conservation Series
8530 Powerstow

Location: Madison, WI | The netting on the power stow I am not a fan of. The conservation series net is nice and light but I also don’t care for the light knitted bag because fish tend to tangle so bad in it takes way too long during unhooking. I replaced the bag on my conservation net with the 8425 and then I loved it. However if you go that far you may as well just get the power catch 8425 and be done. |

| Just browsing and getting ready for my last Muskie season. I have the Power-Catch with the thick net. Great net. Last season I spent days by myself in the boat. My kids are grown now with their own lives. By myself even the Power-Catch is a task fishing by myself with the thick net. I may be looking for a lighter net or even considering giving up Muskie fishing after this year and concentrate on walleyes, bass, etc and sell off all my muskie gear. |

| Check out Drifter Tackle nets. They are very nice and light weight. XL size is plenty big!

Location: NE Ohio | love the 8425 with the thick net. fish roll up tight with lure in mouth with lighter bags, harder to release quickly. if you find a fish that won't fit in that net you'll need a gun for it first! |

I fish solo much of the time and had the Big Kahuna. Much too heavy for this boy!!
I removed the bag, sold it and put on the Drifter Tackle XXl on the same frame as it's basically the same size and lots lighter!! Happy boy now. |

| Howdy,
As a follow up I decided to get two nets, one for fishing solo and one for when I have someone with me. I decided to get the 8425 Power Catch and the 9530 Conservation Series.
I'm impressed with both and am glad I went this direction as the weight of the 8425 is noticeable.
