Yup, I am here. My initial response is no, they won't work together. Let me do a little research, and I'll get back to you.

Nope, they operate on different frequencies.

OK, after a quick search, I came up with the answer. No!

Now the reason. A Marine Radio channel's operate in the VHF range, somewhere between 156 and 162 MHz. The GMRS radio's operate in the UHF range, around 462 MHz.

It's all coming back to me. I was a Ground Radio Tech in the Air Force in the mid 70's, and I worked on a variety of Radio's. We had radio's in a Jeep called the MRC-107, that had HF, VHF, UHF, and FM. When I was in Germany, I used to talk to a babe at an Air Base in England on the HF. This thing could really reach out there. HF was somewhere in the 2-27? MHZ range I believe, and the wavelangth of the signal was rather long. That allowed it to go over mountains and things. VHF was medium range, and UHF, with very short wavelength was virtually line of sight, like Ground Controller to an attacking Ground Support Fighter. The most important thing I remember was the antenna made all the difference in performance.
