Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I just received a copy of this fine tome (seriously...tome) yesterday, and had some time to page through it a bit this evening. At 355 pages, this is just plain excellent entertainment! Anyone even a little bitten by the muskie angling bug will find this really good reading, and the history in post cards is excellent. I will take the time to read the entire book, slowly, as the winter settles in up in the North. Very highly recommended. I'll let Larry tell you how to get a copy. Posts: 135 | Larry...do you accept PayPal for direct purchase? I know it's a book about mostly just antique stuff, but i don't want to use a mostly just antique payment method and mail a check.

Posts: 113 | Any chance these will be available at the Muskie shows this winter? Specifically the Chicago show. If so, will there be signed copies?

Posts: 1291 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | bobbie: That should do it, thanks. Muskyfreak44: Probably not unless I happen to be there and you run across me. Just not cost effective I will go to Chicago show if the weather is decent and will do at least one day at the Minnesota Expo.

Posts: 1291 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | An update note: Postage to Canada and overseas is out of control. Before ordering from those areas, please contact me via email at: [email protected] A better option shipping wise may be: www.amazon.com Same book without the author signature Hard bound copies: Orders for these copies has far exceeded my expectations, therefore, if the pace continues, I will have to order replacement stock, which will take approximately six weeks or so. I can only guarantee immediate shipping of hard bounds for a short time longer. Again, Amazon may have a better stock pile than me...same book without the author signature. Soft bound copies: Good stock on hand. Thanks to all that have ordered and PayPal has worked just fine, email me for details should you wish to use that method of payment. Posts: 241 | I ordered my book from buybooksontheweb on Dec. 15. They charged my card but I have not received my book yet. I called them and left a message. I hope my order didn't get lost. Has anyone else had any delays? Backdraft

Posts: 1291 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | backdraft: "Normal" shipping time from the publisher is 3 weeks. Press problems and the Christmas crunch has put them somewhat behind. I have soft covers on hand and can ship immediately. I'm currently out of hard covers and with a change to the back cover, my wait will necessarily be longer. I trust when you get you book you will think it was worth the wait! Larry: email: [email protected] Edited by Larry Ramsell 1/3/2018 9:15 AM

Posts: 75 | Given the apparent size of some of the muskies in a few of the very old pictures and the length and weights attributed to them, it would appear that at least a few people weren't exaggerating back in the day - or at least not by too much. Quite a feat to land fish like that given the gear they had. Interesting to see there were several pictures taken in front of Boulder Lodge. I hadn't associated Ghost Lake with fish that big. Would those have come from the river?

Posts: 1291 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | bwalsh: Ghost Lake has produced muskies up to 33 pounds (if any larger, I am unaware of them). Since it is close to the West Fork of the Chippewa River, it is possible that some of those fish may have come from there as well. One of my goals for this book was to educate muskie anglers on the past history of the sport, the size of muskies caught and some places not commonly thought of as muskie waters. Fun stuff!
